Conversion of a classic 35-metre schooner
The Cecilie, a 104-year-old schooner has been converted into a fantastic houseboat over the past year.
The Cecilie
The Cecilie is a schooner which was built right after the end of the First World War in 1920 at the Friedrich Krupp Germaniawerf.
The conversion
After 104 years, the Cecilie will get a new life as a beautiful houseboat for which SRF was given the honour of executing.
The original hull has been repaired where necessary while retaining original details such as the rivet joints in the hull.
In addition, a new superstructure has been installed with wheelhouse and the bowsprit and two masts will give the Cecilie her new looks.
Internally, she will have classic modern interiors, with a spiral staircase amidships between the three decks.
Of course, in line with current standards, the Cecilie will be equipped with a heat pump system linked to the underfloor heating throughout the ship.
Delivery of this unique (residential) vessel is scheduled for May.
